Help us to be there to support mental wellbeing
Mind in Kingston runs a Community Allotment in Tolworth, which offers local people with mental health issues the opportunity to grow fruit and vegetables and learn more about healthy eating.
Gardening and being outdoors are proven to help people with mental health issues and improve mood, lessen anxiety and help people to relax.
The project is open to anyone with a mental health condition or issue, who will benefit from ecotherapy and is interested in learning about growing and tending plants, different varieties of fruit and vegetables and what to do with them.
We will be working with Public Health Kingston to provide Cook and Eat sessions and information about nutrition and healthy eating.
We rare grateful to RBK for awarded us with a towards the running of the allotment.
We are currently recruiting volunteers to provide gentle support to service users and help us to maintain the allotment. We are particularly looking for volunteers who know about growing fruit and vegetables, general gardening maintenance and who are willing to teach other people gardening skills in a supportive, gentle manner.
