Help us to be there to support mental wellbeing
for all
We believe that mental health issues shouldn't be a barrier to physical activity for anyone. Get Set to Go is our physical activity programme that supports people with mental health issues to get active to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Delivered in partnership with community partners, we offer taster sessions in different physical activities or weekly structured group
How to join:
Most of our physical activities are open to anyone who feels that physical activity could benefit their mental health. Individuals can self-refer or be referred by a health professional, support worker or a via another charity.
Run by us at Mind in Kingston in partnership with Surbiton Boxing Club, this is a fun, inclusive session on Zoom designed for anyone who wants to get their body moving and some endorphins flowing! Matt from Surbiton Boxing Club and Rachel D from Mind in Kingston will be hosting the call each week. Please note that at this time the session is for adults 18 and above.
Research suggests boxing can help to release endorphins, improve our focus and concentration, increase feelings of motivation and reduce stress ~ all things that can support our wellbeing and health.
Every Tuesday 12:00 - 12:45pm
Every Thursday 5pm - 5.40pm.
Please contact Rachel on the details above to register your interest or for more information.
We are home to Kingstonian Mind United FC; a football club made up of individuals (18 years and over) who have lived experiences of mental health issues and who share a passion for the beautiful game of football! We are open to beginners and players of any level, as our main focus is creating a safe and welcoming environment to get active by playing football.
As part of our Get Set to Go programme, we welcome you to come along to meet the team and experience one of our weekly, free training sessions. This opportunity has enabled many new members to decide to get involved with our inclusive mental health football team, Kingstonian Mind United FC. The team is supported and trained weekly by a Coach from AFC Wimbledon and supported by our Physical Activity Coordinator from Mind in Kingston.
Mind in Kingston invites you to join us with Karen Skehel for an uplifting blend of guided and free expression movement to music and dance. No steps to learn, just relaxing movement meditation. Something for both dancers and non-dancers alike. For more information and to book your place, please click the link above.
