Mind in Kingston

Trailblazer Suicide Prevention

Our new Trailblazer Suicide Prevention project started in November 2019 and is a collaboration between South West London Health & Care Partnership and the six south west London Local Authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in collaboration with Mind in Kingston and Mind in Croydon.

The project will focus on suicide prevention among middle-aged men in South West London, with Mind in Kingston focusing on Kingston, Richmond and Wandsworth, and Mind in Croydon focusing on Croydon, Sutton and Merton.

Project Coordinator Marie McCormack will work with partners, key organisations and her counterpart in Mind in Croydon to deliver this project.

Key activities for the project will include:

  • outreach to targeted organisations and groups identified as linked to supporting middle-aged men,
  • organising an externally-commissioned training programme,
  • supporting development of a resource pack,
  • the recruitment of suicide prevention champions and
  • supporting the Health & Care Partnership-led delivery of a men’s shed in each borough
