World Mental Health Day 2018

Every year, Mind in Kingston marks World Mental Health Day with an event or activity that highlights the contributions made and achievements reached by people with mental health issues. 

The events and activities are aimed at raising awareness and reducing stigma, as well as providing information about mental health, recovery and support available locally. 

This year, World Mental Health Day is on the 10th of October and the theme is Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World.

Our events:

Art Exhibition - 8-31st of October at Kingston Library. Art works produced by service users at our Art Group led by Edit Biro-Hannah over the summer. Grand opening on the 8th from 3-5 with the Mayor of Kingston Cllr Thay Thayalan. FREE

Information Stall - 10th of October from 10am-1pm at John Lewis Kingston. Advice & information about mental health and Mind in Kingston's services. FREE

Mental Health Awareness Training sessions for young people - 10th of October. Vicky will visit Girlguiding and Kingston University to talk about mental health of young people in a changing world.

Mental Health in the Workplace event - 10th of October at the Guildhall from 11am to 2pm. FREE

Mind United FC - 10th of October at the Walton Excell. World Mental Health Day Football match. FREE

KVA Bake Sale - 10th of October at Siddeley House, 50 Canbury Park Road, Kingston. Raising awareness of mental health issues with sweet treats; proceeds to go to Mind in Kingston.

King Athelstan Primary School - 10th of October - raising awareness of how physical health and mental wellbeing connect by doing a Wake up, Shake up! dance. Also raising money for Mind in Kingston

Kingston Acadamy - 10th of October. Pupils and staff are raising awareness of mental health issues by donating 1 and wearing green accesories with their uniforms.

The Groves Surgery, New Malden - 11th of October from 7-8:30pm. Event to raise awareness of mental heath issues with a great line up of speakers and break-out sessions. Open to everyone. FREE

Mind in Kingston Drop-in Cafe - 11th of October from 6-9:30pm at Alfriston Day Centre, 3 Berrlands Road, Surbiton. Tea & cake session to raise awareness of World Mental Health Day. Open to everyone.
