Supporting People

Our Supporting People service supports individuals to live independently in the community.

This comprises a number of different options including shared homes and Floating Support. Our partners are registered social landlords.

User Involvement Services    

This encompasses several different aspects of service users' inclusion in the decision making process.

A free quarterly newsletter is posted to all interested parties and is also available at a comprehensive range of locations across the borough. Articles are contributed by the voluntary, statutory and private sectors. The focus is on services provided for service users and carers.

Regular forums for discussion are provided on wards, day centres, drop-in cafes and public venues.

In addition to this, our Service User Involvement Worker sits on a variety of panels in the borough. We encourage service users to be involved in this process and offer support. please email simon@mindinkingston.org.uk for further information.



Acute Recreation Service    

Our team provides recreational activities on the wards at Tolworth Hospital in the evnings and at weekends when staffing levels are lower and there is less structured occupation.



Outreach Information Stall    

The stall is set up at various locations in the borough and distributes booklets and information to the public. Please email michal@mindinkingston.org.uk for further information.



Drop-In Cafés    

We have two drop-in cafés: the Bridge and the Star. They offer subsidised meals, low level support and promote social inclusion. The cafés are open in the evening and at weekends when other non-crisis services are closed. please email joanne@mindinkingston.org.uk for further information.



Mental Health Information Centre    

The Information Centre welcomes anyone who would like to find out more about mental health and related areas. Our resources include books, journals, leaflets, booklets, teaching packs, and videos/DVDs. This service is free and is situated in the Mind in Kingston office in Siddeley House. Small Grants Scheme    

Small grants are available through Mind in Kingston up to a maximum of £100 per person per year. These grants must be applied for through the individual's Care Co-ordinator.



'Sample This' Music Project    

Mind in Kingston are involved in the management of the 'Sample This' Music Project in partnership with South West London & St. George's Mental Health NHS Trust and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.



Mind in Kingston Football Team   

Mind United FC is run by Mind in Kingston and meets on a weekly basis for training and competes in the Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) league. You can self refer by emailing mindunitedfc@gmail.com
